Nordic Focus Festival – Festiwal Kultury Nordyckiej to unikalne w skali kraju interdyscyplinarne wydarzenie organizowane nieprzerwanie od 2016 roku w Gdańsku we współpracy z Uniwersytetem Gdańskim oraz nordyckimi partnerami krajowymi i zagranicznymi. W listopadzie tego roku już po raz ósmy miasto Gdańsk ugości wielu wybitnych artystów, ekspertów oraz ciekawych osobowości związanych z kulturą nordycką, dzięki którym miłośnicy i miłośniczki Północy z całego kraju będą mieli okazję poznać szczególny i niepowtarzalny klimat tamtejszej kultury i życia.

Każda z dotychczasowych edycji miała inny charakter, ale naszym niezmiennym celem było szerzenie wiedzy o regionie północnej Europy w jak najbardziej przystępny i ciekawy sposób – poprzez słowo, film, fotografię, dyskusje, różnorodne warsztaty i aktywności fizyczne.

Główne filary festiwalu stanowią spotkania literackie z autorami, podróże, prelekcje i prezentacje, zajęcia warsztatowe, pokazy filmowe i koncerty. Co roku dużą popularnością cieszą się warsztaty językowe dla początkujących – tu można nauczyć się podstaw języków nordyckich: szwedzkiego, duńskiego, norweskiego, fińskiego, grenlandzkiego, a w tym roku także islandzkiego. Naszą publiczność zachęcamy również do wzięcia udziału w licznych konkursach, nagradzanych książkami i festiwalowymi gadżetami.

Nordic Focus Festival is an event dedicated to the culture of the Nordic countries. This nationally unique, interdisciplinary event has been organised continuously since 2016 in Gdańsk in cooperation with the University of Gdańsk, as well as Nordic national and international partners. For the eighth time in this November, the city of Gdańsk will host a number of prominent artists, experts and interesting personalities connected with Scandinavian culture, thanks to whom the residents of the Tri-City and lovers of the North from all over the country will have the opportunity to get to know the special culture and life of the North.

Every year we want the main pillars of the festival to be literary meetings with authors, travelogues, lectures and presentations, workshop activities, film screenings and concerts. Language workshops for beginners are always very popular – here you can learn the basics of several Nordic languages: Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Greenlandic and, this year, Icelandic. Our audience is also encouraged to take part in numerous competitions to win various books and festival goodies. Each of the past editions has had a different character, focused on the culture of a different Nordic country. However, our constant aim has been to spread knowledge about the northern European region in the most accessible and interesting way possible – through words, film, photography, discussions, various workshops and physical activities.
